18h UTC; TUESDAY, 23 JULY 2013: For those among our friends still insisting that "AmeriKKKa Needs to be More Like China" when it comes to hastening socioeconomic recovery and jobs creation comes this nice fresh news from the BBC:
China has banned the construction of government buildings for five years, according to state media.

The move comes as part of a campaign by President Xi Jinping to show that the ruling Communist Party (CPC) is cracking down on corruption and waste.

Glitzy new government buildings, sometimes in impoverished areas, have been a source of public outrage.

The directive forbids luxury makeovers and expansions done under the guise of repair work, Xinhua newspaper
[sic] said.

The notice says some departments and local authorities have built huge government office compounds against regulations, tainting the image of the CPC.

Among the buildings that have attracted widespread disapproval in recent years is the western-style government office building in the city of Fuyang in Anhui province, in eastern China.

It reportedly cost 30 million yuan ($4.89m, £3.19m) to build and is referred to as the "White House" by residents.

A state-owned drug company also caused outrage after photographs emerged apparently showing a building decorated to mimic France's Versailles palace, complete with gold-tinted walls and chandeliers.

Some government agencies have reportedly built luxury offices in seaside resorts where officials can stay for free or at deeply discounted prices.

The ban - described as an "across-the-board halt" - includes training centres, hotels or government motels, Xinhua said.

It also says government organisations should not receive sponsorship or donations towards construction projects, or collaborate with private companies.

"Banning the building of new government buildings is important for building a clean government and also a requirement for boosting CPC-people ties and maintaining the image of the CPC and the government," Xinhua quoted the directive as saying.

Tackling corruption has been President Xi Jinping's most high-profile policy since he became China's leader earlier this year.

He has warned that "corruption and bribe-taking by some party members and cadres" pose "severe challenges" to the Communist Party's rule.
Is it any wonder that "Tea Party," "9/12" and suchlike types are as adamant as it gets in insisting that only the private sector is best equipped to create jobs "if only they made reasonable efforts to do so on their own free will and accord," as if hesitant to use blackmail, extortion or other questionable tactics to force jobs creation efforts?

Which brings up the news of President Obama going on a "winning of hearts and minds" tour to push for renewed calls among the Real Americans for realistic jobs-creation and socioeconomic-development efforts as would rejuvenate our otherwise "morally superior" economy ... which, in its turn, will see "Tea Party" types respond with bromide-heavy bumper-sticker slogans like "reclaiming economic feedom," "REAL jobs for REAL AmeriKKKa," "Wall Street and Main Street need to work together," &c., &c., as conceal a clear and present want of realistic action they forever insist on.

Said "action," they would prefer, having been devised in closed-door meetings with participants expected to use "the Five Words" (as in "I have nothing to say") if asked about the proceedings during debriefings involving such in positions of confidence and trust (cf. the Eerste Ekonomesie Volkskongres at Bloemfontein, South Africa in October 1939 under auspices of the Afrikaner Broederbond and affiliated entities as devised the Afrikaner Ekonomesie Beweging which sought the "complete and final elimination of poor whiteism" as affected the Afrikaner all the more thanks to the Great Depression, preferably through appeals to ethno-national solidarity and identity encapsulated in the Afrikaans term Volkseenheid--"natural unity of the people"--rather than accepting State or private charity or relief).

And the agenda, it turns out, being a rather clumsy hybrid of:
  • said Afrikaner Ekonomesie Beweging's call for a "spontaneous and mighty" Reddingsdaad ("rescue deed") expected to leverage the "idle monies" of the Afrikaner Volk through a Reddingsdaadfond taking advantage of latent natural synergies into "productive capital" serving a new, "people-centred" ideal of Volkskapitalisme ("people's capitalism") expected to deemphasise wealth creation in favour of jobs creation and training for the Greater Luscious Glory of the Afrikaner; and
  • the Juche Idea out of North Korea, calling as it does, inter alii, for a self-reliant and self-sufficient society founded on the doctrine that "Man is the Master of Everything, and decides Everything" (or, put another way from the Afrikaans, 'n Volk red homself--"a people rescues itself"; in this [theoretical] case, the "REAL AmeriKKKan" in his Luscious Glory of poverty, fecundity and ignorance as can be manipulated to the extent conservative prolefeeders deem fit and proper under prevailing circumstances).
Same to be promoted to the masses through a "spontaneous and mighty popular movement" expected to be at once Christian Nationalist and holding dear the Right's belief in a supposed interconnexion For Mutual Benefit of ekonomesie vryheid met Amerikaanse eienskappe unto AmeriKKKan National Character and Identity as a Sovereign Peculiar Among the Nations as of Divine Right and Will, reinforced by an equally-illogical delusion of an attack upon one concept being automatically regarded as a concurrent such upon the other (and the defence thereof requiring Any Means Necessary, especially so through hard-wired and blind fanaticism of the highest order), preferably modelled on the Reddingsdaadbond ("Rescue Action League") movement down South Africa way as sought an Afrikaner socioeconomic and cultural identity.

As for the Reddingsdaadfond expected to be thus called for, structured along the lines of "Christian" (pseudo)religious "ministries" giving substantial aid and comfort to the Christian Right vis-a-vis fundraising appeals, expect such (in theory) to be operated as a "social responsibility project" by a consilium of major Wall Street banking and investment houses expected to assume all fees and expenses in interconnexion, particularly when it came to the several "investment funds" (themselves expected to be modelled on the Federale Volksbeleggings [FVB] and Bonuskor such as the Afrikaner Ekonomesie Beweging begat thanks to natural synergies between the Afrikaner Broederbond, the life insurer Sanlam and the Volkskas banking-house, now part of ABSA) offered in service to the "socioeconomic empowerment of the 'REAL AmeriKKKan'" heretofore not expected to know anything about the equities markets aside from latent anti-Semitic platitudes as are, ironically, promoted by this same ilk generally. (Likewise with various "loan campaigns" structured on the Liberty Loan campaigns of World War I expected to finance "loan trusts" and "mortgage trusts" theoretically expected to "save the 'REAL AmeriKKKan' from himself.")

Meanwhile, Your Correspondent couldn't help but imagine the prospect of inheritances or life insurance proceeds being paid out in the form of preloaded debit cards as opposed to the traditional paper cheques, in line with the prevailing trend of companies starting to pay their employees through the debit-card facility ... state welfare programmes using same to pay cash benefits to clients ... or even (as claimed in "419" scam letters) Nigerian government agencies and officials moving the Immoral Proceeds of Crime offshore (the device being necessary, it's claimed, because of possible delays in the mail transit of traditional paper cheques as would render such worthless on receipt).

Finally, some news that "Tea Party" types are sure to go ballisto over, especially because of their "depriving children of developing healthy respect" for ekonomesie vryheid, &c., somehow implied (in their minds, know): Citing declining sales and profit margins, the Taco Bell unit of YUM! Brands has announced that it will discontinue its kids-meal offerings with the New Year. No word yet as to whether the other franchises in the YUM! Brands stable (as in Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Au Bon Pain, Long John Silver's and A&W All-American Food) will follow suit.
