19h39 UTC; TUESDAY, 24 JUNE 2014: As we all know, boys and girls, St. Jude is the patron of helpless causes and movements, the pis aller, so to speak, for those with unpopular causes or helpless cases not even medical science can explain or answer in seeking treatment. No doubt explaining why the late actor Danny Thomas chose St. Jude as patron of his St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, which has a rather impressive track record when it comes to research in, and treatment for, childhood cancers once thought incurable.

And which I bring up in the wake of news that one Christian Right leader has acknowledged that opposition to same-gender marriage is fast becoming a Lost Cause for the Elmer Ganrtyites thanks to continued court rulings that are ending gay-marriage bans at state level, many by State Constitutional Amendments or otherwise by voter plebiscites which Christian Right movements bankrolled in heavily ... and leaving many such of the Elmer Gantry persuasion at a loss coming up for just the right cause(s) which can click with their target audience of "poor whites" whose minds can be easily manipulated to distract them from The Bigger Picture of such policies their "Tea Party" drookies have been pushing that are actually preventing the "poor white" from seeing the supposed benefits of ons styl ekonomesie vryheid such a fusion ideological would love to promote as a Holy of Holies--especially where a mutual interconnexion unto Our National and Sovereign Identity as a Peculiar Among the Nations by His Grace and Favour (howbeit tenuous) can be divined. And made even more absurd by implying that the two are mutually beneficial to the extent of suggesting that an attack on one concept automatically becomes that of the other (cf. Article VII of the NATO Charter, implying that an enemy attack on one member state is seen to be an attack on all NATO member states).

Unfortunately, it's possible that the Christian Right is likely grasping at straws, and then some, trying to win back the "values-conscious" voters--who, as I said, are more than likely to be "poor whites" of the worst sort known. Which, in its turn, can provide the Real American (as in such who opposes the Christian Right and their Unholy Alliances) with plenty of Aunt Sally opportunities for "winning over hearts and minds" against the Christian Right's faltering agenda, and such candidates who support same.

So until next time, folks ... "73"
