00h30 UTC; WEDNESDAY, 9 OCTOBER 2013: As it seems that no end may be in sight for the Federal Government Shutdown, now that House Speaker Boehner has taken essentially a "Molon Labe!" approach to the situation, with his "Tea Party" enablers holding what amounts to a Sword of Fire Upon Congress, it'll be interesting to see just how many calls for armed insurrection against the Government are emerging.

And whether the ensuing chatter is being monitored by the approriate national security channels, uncertainty of pay notwithstanding (let alone the likelihood of a response from the National Guard to suppress any ensuing insurrection, even if there are those among the Moronic Underworld draped in the flag and carrying the Fiery Cross of My God and My Country--singing, unfortunately, the likes of the Horst Wessel, "Vaarwuel aan die Vierkleur" and "Die Stem van Suid-Afrika.")

Meanwhile, Right Wing Watch is making note of where Foster "aspirin between the knees" Friess is urging outright default on United States Government debt, suggesting that such might actually be beneficial to the sovereign debt rating of the United States and strengthen its full faith and credit:
The doomsayers have it exactly backwards. Say your personal finances were a mess, so you quit adding debt and cut spending. Your credit score would improve. If you don’t believe me, ask any banker. Why would raising our national debt limit help our credit rating?
Meneer Friess, where did you get the idea that a debt default might actually be beneficial to our sovereign debt ratings? And how many other entities know you of that have actually improved their credit rating by such measures as you suggest?

Meanwhile, for such still insisting that AmeriKKKa "needs to be more like China" when it comes to reclaiming socioeconomic prosperity based on the disciplines of ekonomesie vryheid met Amerikaanse eienskappe, comes this item via the BBC:
A village official has been sacked in China over a lavish wedding for his son that cost 1.6m yuan ($260,000;£160,000), state media say.

The wedding lasted three days - luxury cars ferried guests around and well-known entertainers kept them amused.

Ma Linxiang, deputy head of a village on Beijing's outskirts who hosted the wedding, said the bride's family had paid for most of the ceremony.

China's leaders have warned officials not to flaunt wealth amid public anger.

The wedding extravaganza took place during last week's National Day holiday, the
Beijing News reported.

Marquees were erected for 210 tables, and some of the celebrations were also held at a convention centre - which had been a 2008 Beijing Olympics venue, the newspaper said.

The local Communist Party discipline inspection commission in Chaoyang district, where Mr Ma's village is located, removed him from his post on Tuesday, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The commission found no evidence that Mr Ma had used public funds for the wedding, but it believed that the extravagance of the celebration ran counter to the party's rules and damaged its image, the report said.

With official corruption rampant in China, major family events like weddings have become a front for taking bribes in the form of gifts, correspondents say.
Moving back to AmeriKKKa for the nonce, with certain elements pushing the trope that those "chronically and habiturally dependent upon government" need to embrace a "healthy respect" for ekonomesie vryheid, &c., in particular one based solely on the Invisible Hand of the Marketplace (a/k/a the Protective Hand of God Upon Thy Dear and Lovely Land, which can be revoked without prior warning, or so certain Elmer Gantry types insist) rather than "manufactured simulations" such as the insurance interexchanges per the Affordable Care Act (a/k/a Obamacare), may I be the first to insist where they need to consider that their targeted audience for such a (theoretically) Noble Experiment, otherwise known as the Moronic Underworld,
  • has extremely limited buying power as is all the more at risk of serious exploitation;
  • is grossly and utterly incapable of making sound and wise purchasing choices based on practicality with value for money; and
  • has very limited shopping options (Walmart for the most part) when this same conservative element insists on greater consumer choices as would, in their turn, translate into lower prices thanks to that same Invisible Hand. (As a matter of fact, during the 19-year production run of the Ford Model T [1908-1927], its price actually came down from $850 [about $21,900 in today's money] initially to some $300 [about $3,970 today] by the end of production thanks to continual improvements in manufacturing, notably the production line as made mass production all the more feasable, translating into lower consumer costs.)
Further, for the sake of "winning over hearts and minds" among the Moronic Underworld to especially the wholesale denationalisation of "non-essential government agencies and services" such as Medicare/Medicaid (through conversion into untested voucher-based schemes), Social Security, welfare, Amtrak, the Postal Service, &c., &c., in the name of said ekonomesie vryheid, &c., we can do without this particular analogy from the "Five Reports" chain letter e-mail scams popular in the early 2000's: "How many times have you received pizza flyers on your doorstep until, suddenly, you were hungry for pizza? ... I was skeptical of this programme at first, but then, I quickly realised its power and potential for making real money on the Internet...."

Besides, how exactly does pizza flyers piling up on one's front porch relate to moving the poor out of welfare into self-reliance based on models of ekonomesie vryheid, &c., structured against the best interests of this same Moronic Underworld such is theoretically expected to "benefit" as being "AmeriKKKan" and yet "Christian"?

In the immortal words of the late John Cameron Swayze
as concluded every broadcast
of the Camel News Caravan (NBC-TV, 1949-1956),
"That's the story; glad we could get together ..."
