17h44 UTC; MONDAY, 19 MAY 2014: No wonder the Christian Right labours under the delusion of AmeriKKKa being a "Christian Nation," Now, Tomorrow, FOREVER!! (paraphrasing Alabama Governor George Wallace channelling then-South African President Hendrik Verwoerd at the former's inauguration in 1961); proof:

Ted Cruz continues to be outcrazied by his dad: "The Bible tells you exactly who to vote for"; (via Raw Story )

The father of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told a crowd in Massachusetts last Friday that the Bible outlined which candidates they should vote for. “And let me tell you, the Bible talks a lot about politics,” Rafael Cruz said at an event in Foxborough. “…

Which brings us, fellow readers, to this rather interesting exugeneis of the notion held by certain "conservative" Christians about "real" Christianity being male chauvinist by virtue of a natural hierarchialism seen as--you guessed it--"Christian."  Quoting therefrom (emphasis from the original):
For if you believe that God is a highly structured hierarchy and that “He” establishes that hierarchy throughout society, you’re going to support that social vision. Christian hierarchy believes that the pattern where Rich White Men are on top of everyone else is a necessary social order and that homosexuality and trans people are an abomination. So they support policies that work to keep things in that way.

We can see this most visibly in theologian Wayne Grudem. Grudem is one of the primary forces behind the rigid patriarchical Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. The CBMW teaches that men and women have distinct “roles” according to their genders; that a woman’s place is in the home, subservient to the husband; that a woman cannot preach or hold office in the church; that the man’s word is always the last word;p that a woman serves as “helpmate”; that homosexuals are an “abomination”; that sexuality is only between a husband and a wife; that feminism is a cause of physical and emotional domestic abuse; etc, etc. Oh, and Strachen is the executive director. This resource and his books on the subject are widespread through the Evangelical world. Grudem also wrote one of the most popular systematic theology books. In it, he outlines theological hierarchy from a Calvinist perspective.

Currently, Grudem is focusing all his white, male, middle class Christian hierarchy energies into helping poor countries. He does this by outlining plans for the countries to acknowledge his God and to prioritize capitalism and Western concepts like linear thought and private property. The problem, according to Wayne Grudem, is not that African and Asian countries have been robbed for centuries due to slavery, exploitation, and colonialism. It’s that they’re not more like White Christian America.
Which calls to mind what Kipling called the "White Man's Burden" as excused colonialism and Christian mission work in the late 19th and early 20th centuries vis-a-vis underdeveloped and otherwise "primitive" cultures and societies, and their "civilising" the "heathen and backward" peoples. And, in a way, the core concepts of the Afrikaner Ekonomesie Beweging as promoted by Afrikaner Nationalist leaders down South Africa way from the late 1930's on, and whose ideologies helped shape the mindsets of the apartheid regime and what it expected of the "privileged" white minority, especially so by the Afrikaner Volk heretofore seen as "subjugated into poor whiteism" under British rule ... and which, under a campaign of Reddingsdaad channelling an inherent Volkseenheid into exercises in Helpmekaar drawing solely upon the Volk's resources and will, would translate into the socioeconomic empowerment of the Afrikaner manifested in a "people-centred" reinvention of classical capitalist models (Volkskapitalisme; "people's capitalism") that would serve the Volk with jobs and jobs training taking precedence over traditional capitalist emphasis upon wealth creation seen as benefitting the few.

(Oh, and did I mention where the whole concept of the Afrikaner Ekonomesie Beweging was to be packaged via the Reddingsdaadbond movement as a Mission from God to Save the Afrikaner from Serious Economic Thralldom?)

What's more, the greater ideal of ons styl ekonomesie vryheid
(as it were) as an Agent of National Unity and Identity visaged by religiopolitically conservative Zealots and True Believers for the "people-centred" (as in saying No to State or charity help as a core article of faith for the purposes and intents thereof) socioeconomic recovery of "REAL AmeriKKka" unwittingly turns out to be one requiring all manner of willful and deliberate impediments and canards, especially such of a "pay-to-play" model which only prevents the desideratum of jobs creation (and, in its turn, socioeconomic recovery) from being effected within measurable distance.

Not to mention insisting that only through a "pure" form of said ekonomesie vryheid based largely on best-practices self-regulation, Fair Trading codes and cartel behaviour making IG Farben look like Disneyland when all is said and done, can "REAL AmeriKKKa" be saved from itself with spontaneous jobs creation and business startups "born out of the Volk to serve the Volk," as it were, financed through a central "Patriot Fund" which turns out to be the byproduct of coercion, blackmail and extortion targeting the major Wall Street banks and brokerage-houses officially packaged for prolefeed ends as a "social responsibility initiative" (cf. the Federale Volksbeleggings [FVB] investment house byproduct of said Reddingsdaad movement, whose objective was to take over faltering South African businesses and recast them according to "Afrikaner" models to create jobs for the Afrikaner, as well as encourage Afrikaners to, as it were, "do the Volk and Nation a favour" by leveraging their "idle monies" into "productive capital" serving the Volk).

So how exactly does this become "Christian" when all is said and done?
