17h20 UTC; SATURDAY, 26 APRIL 2014:
If ever there was a time for the "Christian Patriot" movement to start distancing themselves from their fawning for Russian President Vladimir Putin vis-a-vis homophobic policies of state in the name of "protecting children from homosexuality",now would have to be that time (especially in the wake of numerous prominent conservatives distancing themselves from the excesses of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy in the wake of his making racist comments; the "why and wherefore" following this image):

Now to the "why and wherefore" of the need to forsake Vladimir Putin:
  1. His sending in Russian troops and agents provocateur to the the eastern reaches of Ukraine in the name of "protecting the interests of the Russian-speaking community" (cf. Nazi misadventures in the Sudetenland in 1938, whereby the Germans gained control of Czecholsovakia; know, the Sudeten was bestowed Czechoslovakia under the Versailles Treaty despite its dominant German-speaking population), with the likelihood for later misadventures in other former Soviet republics.
  2. Standard & Poors having downgraded Russian foreign-currency-denominated sovereign debt from BBB to BBB- (essentially stopping short of Junk status), citing the risks to the fragile Russian economy from said military misadventures; said downgrade means Russia would have to pay more in interest to just service existing sovereign debt, or offer riskier interest rates to foreign investors (including on any USD-denominated "Yankee bond" issues open to American investors), let alone guarantee its full faith and credit.
  3. Ongoing and substantial losses in Russia's bourses and the value of shares so traded, not to mention the FOREX such vis-a-vis the ruble and the dollar.
Otherwise, what precludes such forsaking?

May we remind such states seeking to claim their "natural right to secession" should circumstances require it: They weren't called the "Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union" for nothing. As witness Article III thereof: "
The said States hereby severally enter into a firm league of friendship with each other, for their common defense, the security of their liberties, and their mutual and general welfare, binding themselves to assist each other, against all force offered to, or attacks made upon them, or any of them, on account of religion, sovereignty, trade, or any other pretense whatever."

And Article XIII: "
Every State shall abide by the determination of the united States in congress assembled, on all questions which by this confederation are submitted to them. And the Articles of this confederation shall be inviolably observed by every State, and the union shall be perpetual; nor shall any alteration at any time hereafter be made in any of them; unless such alteration be agreed to in a congress of the united States, and be afterwards confirmed by the legislatures of every State."

So there.

Contending that "the Bible makes no provision" for free public education, one South Carolina state legislator is calling for the "complete and final" abolition of free public education in The Palmetto State, and converting the funding therefor into vouchers to help with costs for Christian Homeschooling materials and curriculum.

Uh, beg to differ, sir--may I call your attention to Article XI, section 3, of the South Carolina State Constitution, to wit: "
The General Assembly shall provide for the maintenance and support of a system of free public schools open to all children in the State and shall establish, organize and support such other public institutions of learning, as may be desirable."

And section 4 of said article: "
No money shall be paid from public funds nor shall the credit of the State or any of its political subdivisions be used for the direct benefit of any religious or other private educational institution."

What part(s) thereof don't you understand, especially when you took an oath to support and defend as much the South Carolina State Constitution as the Federal such, in common with other legislators?
