18h30 UTC; MONDAY, 16 DECEMBER 2013: First, Your Correspondent wishes to acknowledge that the stylee of today's post is essentially an Engrishfied tribute to Anglo-Irish actor Peter O'Toole, whose death at the age of 81 was announced yesterday--specifically, giving the Engrish treatment to one of his more famous lines in his breakout film role in Lawrence of Arabia (1962), as in "There may be honour among thieves, but none in politicians!"

Which may be as apt a reflection of Our Dear Lovely AmeriKKKa caught in the ideologically-warped vise of the "Tea Party" (pseudo)movement seeking to save our nation and its socioeconomic ideal of ekonomesie vryheid met Amerikaanse eienskappe through destroying the same and recasting it in the mold of Christelike Ekonomesie Vryheid, never mind the risk such carries for further worsening socioeconomic polarisation, the danger for class warfare and overt crony capitalism of the "pay-to-play" model excusing cartel behaviour and its byproducts through manipulated "codes of best practice" expected to replace State regulatory burden, in its turn expected to magically create jobs and "reclaim prosperity."

No doubt something must be rotten in the so-called "Democratic People's Republic of Korea", especially considering the execution reported Friday of Jang Song Thaek on charges of corruption, "debauched behaviour" and plotting a coup against the regime of "Supreem Commander" Kim Jong Un, as was mentored by Jang into power following the shock death a couple years back of his father, now-"Eternal First Secretary" Kim Jong Il. Which, no doubt, is sending shockwaves in certain Asia/Pacific political circles as to what may come next from Beautiful Downtown Pyongyang and the depraved mind of "Supreem Commander" "himself".

Especially if such turns out rivalling Nazi Germany's "show-no-mercy" depravities against even blood relatives of such involved in the Stauffenberg Plot against Hitler in the summer of 1944, invoking an arcane "blood guilt" law which held direct blood relatives of those charged with Infamous or Notorious Crimes to be just as guilty as the perpetrator himself, even if they had no direct involvement in the act proper--which, in any case, could be little more than reducing rank-and-file North Koreans all the more in fear and paranoia mode against the likelihood of their being arbitrarily rounded up and detained in its joycamp system ... in the end, leaving only "Supreem Commander" and a trusted Great Within to show for North Korea's presence.

(Still, though, we can't rule out the possibility of wholesale escape attempts into China or South Korea as desperate North Korean families seek to flee the ensuing Holocaust, with major humanitarian crises for both Beijing and Seoul to grapple with--as well as Tales of Drunkenness and Cruelty whose credibility may be best open to interpretation.)

Meanwhile, can we please see documented evidence of known Christian Persecution in Thy Dear and Lovely Nation such as Christian Right prolefeeders are pushing from time to time as a prolefeed trope of late (as opposed to manufactured atrocity prolefeed therefor of the sort bordering on "friend-of-a-friend" [FoaF] stories, the credibility thereof being rather dubious and disingenuous at best)?

And how knoweth we that these "victims" actually exist, the better so these claims can be independently verified and substantiated before the excesses of "witch-hunting" get out of control?

As if the notion certain Christian Right Zealots and True Believers have
about children being at risk of Indoctrination into Homosexuality by close contact with Homosexual Propaganda wasn't absurd enough, let's not forget that the Athenian Senate condemned Socrates to death by drinking poison hemlock extract in 399 BCE on charges "firstly, of denying the official deities created by the State, and creating entirely new deities; and secondly, of corrupting the young." (For a full account of Socrates' martyrdom, Cicero's Apologia is perhaps the best resource.)

"Another small house is finished in the next block"
(to Engrishfy the closing remarks on every episode of the "slice-of-life"
radio series Vic and Sade through the years)
