20h UTC; MONDAY, 14 OCTOBER 2013: As if the "End Times/Latter Rain" mentality shaping the GOP's religiopolitical ideology wasn't bad enow, reader, consider just how hard-wired the GOP delegation with "Tea Party" leanings in Congress are in seeking the Impeachment of President Obama for Causing Default on the National and Sovereign Debt of the United States, which is likely from Thursday unless timely action is taken to increase the borrowing limit, or otherwise invokes Article 4 of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

And to make matters worse, organisers of yesterday's "Million Vets March" on Washington as protested the closing of war-related monuments in consequence of the Government Shutdown are taking issue with how "Tea Party" and suchlike types crashed same (via the Values Voter Summer) to question the loyalty, patriotism and Presidential eligibility of President Obama, in some cases with rather crude and tasteless appeals to latent racist feelings and tendencies. (Especially galling: Some parents using children to carry the more disgusting specimens of protest signs, hoping to avoid Serious Charges which otherwise could be enough for the parents being declared Morally Unfit, with the children placed unto foster care.)

Not Only That: It's emerged that super-secretive last-minoota trick and deception was deployed by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Speaker of the House John Boehner to, in essence, delay or preempt any attempt to authorise a Congressional vote on the budget or the debt ceiling without the proper permissions having been received. How do we know such "permissions" don't actually involve seeing shady astrologers and fortune-smellers who may also be Crazy Cat Lady types, their premi reeking of feline wastes, cheap gin and dollar-store disinfectant?

No wonder certain conservative types are so hard-wired about their Grand Delusion as insists, for one, that ekonomesie vryheid met Amerikaanse eienskappe is essential to AmeriKKKan National Character and Identity as a Sovereign Peculiar Among the Nations by Divine Will and Endowment ... and would love to see nothing less than the "unwritten law" given the "mere formality of legal recognition" through, preferably, a Constitutional Amendment. Especially where advertising, and the power and intrusion thereof, is seen as essential and integral to the interconnexion's defence, preferably by seeing same as one with Commercial Free Speech (especially where Fox News Channel v. Franken is cited to excuse a "common-law right to lie" in the name of said Commercial Free Speech if seen to serve the advertiser's best interests).

Even more interesting is the possibility of "harnessing such power and intrusion" through constant leverage of the message aimed at "winning over hearts and minds" of especially the weak-minded and vulnerable. The same sort whose parents and grandparents were more likely to listen to those high-powered Mexican "border-blaster" radio stations than American network radio in its "golden age" because of their having the kind of programming they'd rather prefer listening to--Jeebus-shouters, second-rate country music acts, fortune-smellers with dodgy accents and "amazing mail-order values" which, in the mid- to late 1930's, made Del Rio, TX known as "Dollar Rio" thanks to a number of dodgy mail-order offers advertised on Dr. J. R. Brinkley's "border-blaster" radio station XERA (whose studios and transmitter were on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande, just outside what's now Ciudad Acuna) using post-office boxes there. (And which, after World War II, would continue to some extent over its successor, XERF, with Paul Kallinger, "Your Good Neighbour Along the Way" and, later, Wolfman Jack holding court over its 500-kW airwaves overnights at 1570 kHz AM/191 metres MW.)

The techniques, know, pioneered by Doc Brinkley at his Milford, KS station KFKB in furtherance of his "rejuvenation" surgical procedures which were made possible by as much dodgy medical-school degrees as the power of his radio station, which reached into several Midwestern states by the time its licence was revoked in 1930 for "flagrant self-promotion" and "unacceptable programming." And would be perfected by his later forays into "border blaster" radio, first with XER (thanks to $10,000/month phone line connexions between Milford and the Ciudad Acuna transmitters) and, later, with XERA (especially after the Mexican authorities objected to the English-language medical information presented on XER, followed by the Brinkley Act's prohibition on direct phone-line radio interconnexions between studios in the United States and transmitters in another country, prompting the use of "electrical transcriptions" for XERA programming) until it was itself forced off the air by Mexican authorities in 1940.

And further calling to mind the analogy of "How many times have you received pizza flyers on your doorstep until, suddenly, you were hungry for pizza?" commonplace to "Five Reports" and "mailing-list generator" chain-letter scams in the early 2000's to illustrate advertising's power and intrusion vis-a-vis the interconnexion to ekonomesie vryheid, &c.

"Another small house is finished in the next block"
(to Engrishfy the closing remarks on every episode of the "slice-of-life"
radio series Vic and Sade through the years)
