17h59 UTC; MONDAY, 5 JANUARY 2015: In seeking the "complete and final" corporatisation of the United States Postal Service, never mind the agency being Constitutionally obligated, you have to wonder whether some of the more overzealous "Tea Party" and "Christian Patriot" types in Congress so pushing through trick and deception vis-à-vis bankruptcy structured as back-door union-busting and employing "chronic and habitual welfare basket-cases" as outright scabs may be pushing share-subscription quotas structured to bankrupt (and willfully, with all involved expected to deny knowledge therefor) such seen to be of "dubious or questionable loyalties", among them:
  • real or suspected "liberals", "Communists" or such of "questionable loyalties";
  • "welfare basket cases";
  • National Minorities; and
  • such of "deviant or perverted lifestyles, culture and identity."
Which, in its turn, should call to mind the excesses (and under official sanction, know) by the Minnesota Committee for Public Safety during World War I as targeted especially German immigrants, members of their families, German-speakers generally, German-language gazettas, churches where German was used in services and others suspected of possible sympathies or loyalties towards the German cause, largely through fear, intimidation and harrassment officially excused as serving the war effort (and, in extreme cases, overt vandalism, including painting their houses yellow as a shaming tactic).

Which Thy Dear and Lovely Land doesn't need. Even if the desire is to recast the Postal Service according to the mensgesenterde ekonomesie vryheid van ons styl, "gebore ons die Volk, die Volk te dien" (and without any safeguards in place to protect universal service to every last community nationwide, especially in country areas without decent Innerwebz access other than dial-in).

So till next time, folks: "73"

(Which, incidentally, was railroad telegraphers' shorthand for "goodbye.")
