18h UTC; SATURDAY, 23 MARCH 2013: Inevitably, it was bound to come out before too long: The "real" agenda of the Greater "Tea Party" (pseudo)movement turns out to be of Fascistic orientation. And we have this on the word of one James Ives, former Director of Propaganda for the AmeriKKKan Fascist Party and now head of Texas' Greater Fort Bend County Tea Party (outside Houston, in case you ask). Witness these remarks of Meneer Ives to the alternative weekly Texas Tribune, as quoted by Americans Against the Tea Party:
“From my point of view, it was all pro-Constitution, pro-America. I never did anything. There really weren’t enough people involved to be a gathering, let alone a rally. It was basically a scattering of people across the continent just complaining.”
Even more galling are these comments from Ives himself on a message board for the AmeriKKKan Fascist Party (emphasis from original):
“Gentlemen, first let me say that I am proud to be a member, no, VERY proud to be a member of the American Fascist Party. In the growth of this group over a short time, there can truly be said to be signs of light in the tunnel of recent national history. THE VERY FACT THAT SUCH A GROUP CAN GET TOGETHER AT ALL, AND FLOURISH, SAYS THAT THERE IS STILL LIFE IN THE FURROWS AND HILLS, THE BAYOUS AND GLENS OF OUR AMERICA!

"Seth (referring to Seth Tyrssen) has done a masterful job of grooming and nurturing the Party, and it is upon this rock that we shall grow and define the coming age. If we take this time seriously, if we see it as the seedling of the time-to-come, then anything will be possible. Here in Texas, there is a great mistrust of the current state of affairs in government, be it local, statewide or national. But also there is old-fashioned patriotism. This calls into play the great burden of the non-stop media indoctrination of the minds of the land, the incessant voice that says if you are against the status quo, then you are against America. Well, WE know this to be utter nonsense, but it will be our greatest challenge, and our sweetest victory, to finally surpass this dark menace, this numbing threat from the shadows, and replace it with the pure sunbeam that is our Fascist Faith, our Fascist Truth.

"I will, in any way, help the Party to reach its’ goal of a better America, and a better future for our people. Let our cry be of FAITH in the future, love of FAMILY in this present desert of the emotions, and always NATION as the beacon of our lives, and the touchstone for the security of our children. FAITH, FAMILY, and NATION!!!”
So what hast thou to say now, ye who drank the "Tea Party" Kool-aid of "defending Our Dear Lovely Nation" and "protecting our heritage, values, way of life" when you learn that those in positions of presumed trust and confidence vis-a-vis the "Tea Party" may actually tend to the weird and/or unwholesome--the Dregs of Society, even? (And don't tell us that we need to "slit our wrists, be blood brothers" in fanatically-tinged desperation such as would hopefully get you all the closer to the gates of Valhalla.)

See if you can spot the doublethink here, and in His Name to make matters worse: Pat "700 Club" Robertson warning the "REAL AmeriKKKan" viewership of his programme to "beware scamsters in religious garb quoting the Bible; I mean run from them." Which calls to mind the famous maxim from George Orwell's Animal Farm about "some animals [being] more equal than others," and such perhaps implying that The 700 Club and suchlike "ministries" are somehow above reproach as they're supposed to be Good Christians all the while serving His Name, Word and the Great Omission.

Meanwhile, do you think the Elmer Gantryites' screaming their prolefeed heads off about "Religious Liberty!!!" (after the stylee of The Red Guy on Cow and Chicken/I Am Weasel, know) risks getting hackneyed all too easily within measurable distance to the extent that the proper channels will start getting rather sick and tired of the gross insincerity of complaints in this vein (as well they ought to)? (Not to mention where human-rights watchdogs like Amnesty International will start raising questions about the insincerity of any and all claims about "Christian Persecution" coming from the developed world, especially the United States, Canada, Great Britain, the European Union states, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand which Amnesty will easily get "bothered" with as crosses the line into gross nuisance.)

Finally, a Mondegreen Alert: It's probably moi here, but I can't help but listen to that line in "Long Cool Woman" by The Hollies, vintage 1974, about "And I heard somebody shooting a gun" sounding like "... shooting a gong." (As for what I seem to imagine when so listening--or at least used to, in younger days--think of Wisconsin Dells during the summer shoobie season. Late evening into night. A rainstorm having just passed, with residual fog and mist making their presence known across the region, creating interesting effects with the lighting reflected in the dampness of The Broadway and Wisconsin Dells Parkway.)
