18h UTC; TUESDAY, 20 AUGUST 2013: Recently, Media Matters for America came out with a rather blistering report taking issue with Fox News Channel's Saturday-morning "financial" and "economic" news block packaged under the banner of "The Cost of Freedom," which seems to imply that there is some class of an implied mutual interconnexion vis-a-vis Our National and Sovereign Identity as a Peculiar Among the Nations and ekonomesie vryheid met Amerikaanse eienskappe, the which is supposedly seen as "essential and integral" to such extent that the defence of one is to automatically be that of the other.

The which, no doubt, took issue with some of the rather illogical misstatements of fact, inaccuracies and false analogies common to its several programmes, especially where the intent throughout is to push the notion that said ekonomesie vryheid, &c., is somehow the Great White Father as will save the Government-Dependent Lower Classes from themselves, all the while unaware that same is somehow incapable of making sound or wise purchasing decisions under a "pure" free-market socioeconomic paradigm that translates into value for money over the long run for want of decent consumer-education skills which could be made worse under "educational reforms" expected to emphasise manufactured "Traditional Values" encapsulated into carefully-nuanced bumper-sticker slogans to be parroted at mass rallies rather than core skills essential to socioeconomic progress and job/career prospects.

And which, in any case, perhaps deserves a "fair and balanced" counterattack in the vein of The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and Monty Python as ought be styled, in the Afrikaans,
Die PĂȘrel van Groot Waarde Ekonomesie Vryheid met Amerikaanse Eienskappe ("The Pearl of Great Price Economic Freedom with AmeriKKKan Characteristics"); Afrikaans being chosen for its novelty value and its potential to confuse such conservatives having a certain (howbeit closeted) quasi-nostalgic yearning for the Luscious Glory that was apartheid South Africa ... the "Pearl of Great Price" part coming from one of Mormonism's three "complimentary" texts to the Christian Bible ... and I acknowledge the influence of the Chinese Communist propaganda trope "socialism with Chinese characteristics" in coming up with the "economic freedom," &c., part. Especially where such can deflate the prevailing Grand Delusions that Fox News pushes in its implying that ekonomesie vryheid, &c., is "The Cost of [Economic] Freedom."

And even more so when Fox News seeks "partnerships" for a "People's Economic Congress" modelled on die Eerste Ekonomesie Volkskongres as was held at Bloemfontein in October of 1939 under auspices of the hyper-secretive Afrikaner Broederbond and affiliated entities in the Name and Behalf of the Afrikaner Volk of South Africa Facing the Clear and Present Danger of "Poor Whiteism" Made All the Worse Under Continuing British Dominion over South Africa With Reckless Disregard for the Greater Glory of the Volk. And, as before, conducted for the most part behind closed doors, its recommendations being made known only through a final volume of Proceedings and Resolutions which turns out being highly nuanced and subjected to Frank Luntz-stylee editing in the interest of conservative beliefs in "words as weapons," the end aim being one of "winning over hearts and minds" among especially the vulnerable and easily-led.

Said Proceedings and Resolutions, for the most part, being a rehashing of those from the Eerste Ekonomesie Volkskongres, among them:
  • Campaigns towards leverage of otherwise "idle monies" held by the "REAL AmeriKKKan" into "productive capital" as would (in theory) help create jobs and finance "viable" business startups as would employ the otherwise idle "REAL AmeriKKKan."
  • Creation and perfection of a new, "people-centred" brand of capitalism (Volkskapitalisme) itself expected to emphasise jobs creation and training over traditional capitalism's emphasis on wealth creation and protection.
  • Creation of "The Patriot Fund," itself modelled on the original Reddingsdaadfond ("Rescue Action Fund") as emerged out of Die Tweede Trek of 1938 across South Africa, itself evolving in large part into the Federale Volksbeleggings (FVB; "Federal People's Investments") investment fund (under management of Sanlam, a South African life insurer with known ties to Afrikaner Nationalist leaders and causes).
  • Promotion, to the extent feasable, of cooperative societies to better help Afrikaner farmers, small businessmen and the working-classes (including agricultural, retailing and financial-services such).
  • Promotion of initiatives to help "REAL AmeriKKKan" businessmen and their interests (cf. the Afrikaner Handelsinstituut), as well as that of the socioeconomic and cultural empowerment of the "REAL AmeriKKKan" (cf. the Reddingsdaadbond).
  • Deemphasising traditional trade unionism in favour of such emphasising "race honour and identity", to be reinforced by wholesale deskilling of industry "to help speed jobs creation."
The which, unfortunately, could be concealing numerous "outs" as unwittingly condones cartel behaviour and cronyism, with clear and present harm and danger ensuing over time to businesses and consumers alike that, in its turn, the "New World Order" is likely to exploit.

So: Exactly what price "economic freedom" with AmeriKKKan characteristics? "Think about it."
